Can Pen Huang reconcile with the past in order to piece together her present?
So Lucky follows Penelope Huang, an Asian American woman putting on her city's first ever Lunar New Year Festival. As she plans for the festival and works on an autobiographical writing assignment, she begins to reflect on her relationships with her community, her friends, and her estranged mother.
The show explores contemporary Asian/Asian American issues including mental health, intergenerational differences, cultural identity and pride, and community organizing.
